Breaking: Operation Delta-Safe Seizes Over 1-Million Barrels Of Stolen-Oil In Niger Delta-Crackdown (Details)

Troops from Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) have made substantial gains in their recent operations in the Niger Delta, seizing 1,007,115 barrels of stolen crude oil and 141,664 litres of illegally refined diesel. Additionally, the operation resulted in the destruction of 49 illegal refining sites, along with significant infrastructure used in the illegal oil trade.

According to Maj-Gen Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, the troops also achieved significant milestones across the country, including the neutralization of 177 criminals, the arrest of 263 suspects, and the rescue of 158 kidnap victims. The operation also saw the recovery of a wide array of weapons and ammunition, underscoring the intensity and success of the military’s efforts.

Operation Delta Safe continues to intensify efforts to combat oil theft and other criminal activities in the region, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing security and protecting citizens.
