BREAKING: Panic In APC As Kano Governor Hires Tinubu’s Lawyer To Regain Mandate

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state has enlisted the services of the esteemed legal expert, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), to champion the retrieval of his mandate at the Court of Appeal.

As per a copy of the notice of appeal disclosed to journalists on Friday, Olanipekun, renowned for leading the legal team of President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), is now the legal representative for Governor Yusuf.

Other members of the governor’s legal team include Bode Olanipekun (SAN), Ibrahim G. Waru, and Akintola Makinde. The legal firm Wole Olanipekun & Co is overseeing the appeal.

On the other hand, Chief E.O.B. Offiong (APC) continues to serve as counsel for the APC.

Recall that the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal ruled last month to unseat Yusuf of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) and declared his opponent, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the victor of the March 18 gubernatorial election.

However, Yusuf has lodged a 42-ground appeal with the appellate court, urging it to nullify the tribunal’s judgment and dismiss the APC’s petition.
