The decision to dismiss them was made by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Mohammed Ali, following a comprehensive Orderly Room trial.

Inspector Adetoye, bearing Force number 279495, and Inspector Stephen, identified by Force number 223521, were involved in an incident in the Obada-Oko community in Ogun State, where they, along with two members of a Vigilante Group named Semiu Afisu and Abidoye Femi, and a driver named Charles John, allegedly conducted an unauthorized raid on a residence.

The unauthorized operation, which took place around 10 pm on November 23, 2023, saw the individuals armed with two Submachine SMG rifles and live ammunition.

Without a valid warrant, they proceeded to search the residence of Taiwo Monsuru and Akintola Sunday, taking away five iPhones, one Samsung smartphone, one Tecno smartphone, and two laptop computers.
