BREAKING: Why My WAEC Certificate Bears Sadiq Abubakar – Atiku Opens Up

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar addressed the discrepancies in his West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate on Tuesday. This clarification was conveyed through Dele Momodu in a post on Atiku’s social media handle.

A group had issued a seven-day ultimatum to Atiku and Peter Obi, demanding the release of their academic records, or else face legal action to compel the disclosure.

Dele Momodu stated that this clarification was deemed necessary due to allegations of forgery made against Atiku by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Momodu further mentioned that certain members of the APC had raised questions about the name “Sadiq Abubakar” on Atiku’s WAEC certificate in comparison to his other credentials. He added that he relayed these accusations to Atiku, who promptly provided an explanation for the discrepancy.

Momodu wrote, ”The APC busybodies have been bombarding me with allegations of forgery against my Principal, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR (GCON), which I immediately forwarded to him and here is his copious response: ‘Yes I used Sadiq Abubakar to sit for my WAEC and after passing my exams I went to swear an affidavit to say I am the same person as ATIKU Abubakar.

“I went to ABU as Atiku Abuakar and passed my Exams as Atiku Abubakar. Interviewed as Atiku Abubakar by the Federal Civil Service Commission and hired into the Customs Service as Atiku Abubakar. So where is forgery there?’ – ATIKU ABUBAKAR.
