CDS Musa Expresses Deep Sorrow Over COAS Lagbaja’s Passing, Salutes His Courage And Commitment

General Musa emphasized the lasting impact of Lagbaja’s dedicated service on both the Armed Forces and the nation.He stated, “His passing is a profound loss not only to his family, the Army, and the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), but also to the entire nation and humanity. Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja’s legacy of outstanding service and loyalty has left a permanent mark on the Nigerian Army, the AFN, and our national security landscape.”

General Musa highlighted Lagbaja’s leadership in establishing the Nigerian Army Aviation Wing and his instrumental role in various security operations across the country. His notable contributions included operations such as Forest Sanity in Kaduna and Niger, Lafiya Dole, Zaman Lafiya, and Hadin Kai in Borno, as well as Zaki in Benue and UDOKA in the Southeast.

“These contributions reflect his tireless commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure Nigeria,” he added.

General Musa prayed for divine strength and comfort for Mrs. Maria Lagbaja, his family, and all who are grieving, while emphasizing that both the military and the nation will deeply feel the void left by Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s invaluable service, particularly during these challenging times for national security.

Reflecting on his impactful 16-month tenure as Army Chief, Musa noted that Lagbaja’s courage and steadfast commitment to Nigeria’s sovereignty will be remembered in the history of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the nation at large.
