Nationwide Tribute: Tinubu Delays FEC Meeting, Declares Flags At Half-Staff For Late COAS Lagbaja

The FEC meeting, initially slated for today, has been postponed in tribute to Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday night.

Lt. General Lagbaja had served as Chief of Army Staff from June 19, 2023, until his death on November 5, 2024.

In further tribute, President Tinubu ordered that flags be flown at half-staff across the nation for seven days.

Earlier, Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the Lagbaja family and the Nigerian Armed Forces, honouring the late general’s dedication and service to Nigeria. He wished him eternal peace and acknowledged his lasting contributions to the nation.
