Represented by Assistant Controller General Zone B, Sambo Kaliyal Dangaladima, during a visit to the Kebbi State Area Command in Birnin Kebbi, the CG underscored the dangers of this practice.

The visit was aimed at boosting morale and preparing officers for the upcoming Customs conference in Abuja.

ACG Dangaladima emphasized that professionalism, respect for citizens’ rights, and prioritizing safety are paramount. He cautioned that relying on camp boys for tasks could compromise security, as these individuals might act as informants for criminals and smugglers.

He assured that under CG Adewale’s leadership, the Customs Service is committed to improving the welfare of its personnel.

Furthermore, Dangaladima reiterated that camp boys are illegal and unrecognized by customs, adding that their involvement undermines security at borders and checkpoints. He urged officers to immediately cease using them for errands, as they can easily be mistaken for customs officers by the public.

On the sidelines, the ACG inaugurated a new e-library and football pitch at the Kebbi Command. Comptroller Earnest Ihejirike explained that the football pitch was built to maintain officers’ fitness and morale, emphasizing the importance of balancing work with physical health.
