N213 billion collected during the same period in 2023.Muhammad Yakubu, the Public Relations Officer for the command, disclosed the figures in a statement on Friday. He also highlighted that October 2024 set a new monthly revenue record for the command, with a total of N44 billion collected.

Customs Area Controller Tenny Daniyan praised the performance, calling October’s revenue the highest in the command’s history. He attributed this success to the dedication of the officers, compliance from port users, and strong cooperation with other government agencies at the port.

Despite the positive financial performance, Daniyan noted several seizures during the period, including items with a duty-paid value of N28.4 million. These items were found in a 40ft container, which contained used motor tyres, washing machines, fridges, and other second-hand goods. Another container held bags of rice and kegs of vegetable oil, while various live ammunition and firearms were also seized from several vehicles.

Daniyan emphasized the importance of continuing to use modern trade facilitation tools, like the B’Odogwu platform, and ensuring swift cargo clearance and thorough inspections during the upcoming holiday season.
