Davido Reveals: Flavour Is Making More Money Than Many Artistes Abroad

Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has praised fellow Nigerian singer Flavour for adopting a different approach to his career by maintaining a strong presence in Nigeria while continuing to build his wealth.

Davido made the remarks while discussing Flavour’s career and business success during an appearance on the Afropolitan podcast, where he highlighted the singer’s decision not to follow the growing trend of Nigerian artistes travelling extensively to the United States for tours and other opportunities.

According to Ireporter Online, Davido said Flavour’s strategy demonstrates that artistes can achieve significant financial success without constantly relocating or seeking opportunities abroad.

The award-winning singer noted that entertainers should understand that there is no single formula for success, urging them to make independent career decisions rather than simply following industry trends.

Davido observed that many Nigerian artistes have been spending considerable time in the United States pursuing performances and other opportunities, while Flavour has continued to operate largely from Nigeria and maintain a strong connection with the local market.

He suggested that the approach has proved financially rewarding for Flavour, claiming that the singer is making more money than many artistes currently touring the United States.

Davido further encouraged entertainers to identify strategies that suit their individual careers instead of copying what appears popular among their colleagues.

The singer stressed that success in the entertainment industry should not necessarily be measured by how frequently an artiste travels abroad, noting that Flavour’s career provides an example of how an artiste can remain focused on the Nigerian market while achieving substantial financial returns.

“ You don’t always have to follow what everybody else is doing. Flavour is in Nigeria making money than a lot of artistes that are touring in America,” Davido said.
