I Couldn’t Walk For 3 Years’ – Daddy Showkey Opens Up On Ghastly Accident
Veteran Nigerian musician John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, has opened up about a difficult period in his life, revealing that he was unable to walk for about three years following a serious car accident.
Ireporter Online reports that the veteran singer made the revelation during an interview with The Podcast Network, where he recounted the severity of the accident and credited Senate President Godswill Akpabio with providing crucial support during his recovery.
According to Daddy Showkey, the accident severely affected his spine and left him facing a prolonged period of medical treatment. He said the incident occurred before what he later described as alleged assassination attempts against him.
The musician disclosed that Akpabio was among the first people to respond to his situation after the accident, helping him access medical care and remaining supportive throughout his lengthy treatment.
Daddy Showkey explained that his relationship with Akpabio dates back several years, long before the latter became a commissioner. He described the Senate President as a trusted friend who stood by him during one of the most challenging periods of his life.
The entertainer said the extent of his injuries left him uncertain about whether he would ever regain the ability to walk. However, he credited the medical assistance facilitated through Akpabio’s intervention as an important part of his eventual recovery.
Reflecting on the experience, Daddy Showkey said his spine was severely affected by the accident and that he spent years receiving treatment.
He recalled that Akpabio’s support extended beyond simply helping him get medical attention, describing the politician as someone who remained involved during the difficult recovery process.
The veteran musician expressed gratitude for the assistance he received, maintaining that without the intervention of people who supported him during that period, his recovery could have been much more difficult.
