Driver Sustains Injuries And Hospitalized After Gas Tanker Overturns In Lagos
A gas tanker overturned on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos on Wednesday, injuring the driver. The incident, which occurred near Anthony Oke, led to significant traffic disruption.
Adebayo Taofiq, spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), confirmed the accident and reported that the driver, who sustained injuries to his hand, is currently receiving medical treatment.
The swift response from LASTMA and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services prevented a potential disaster. Emergency personnel managed to evacuate the tanker and restore traffic flow toward Gbagada and other areas.
LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki praised the coordinated efforts of all responders and reassured the public of ongoing safety measures.
