Edolites Stand Gidigba For Ize-Iyamu With The Slogan “On Your Mandate, We Shall Stand” As He Unveils Vision For Edo State’s Progress
It is no secret that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the prominent APC Aspirant, seized the spotlight on December 27th, effectively bringing Edo State to a standstill with the power of his declaration. CONTINUE READING
The APC’s leading aspirant took center stage at the APC State Secretariat on Airport Road, Benin City as Edolites, driven by genuine support and admiration, flooded the streets in impressive numbers to witness their prospective governor unveil his plans for the state.
Addressing his enthusiastic supporters, Ize-Iyamu candidly shared insights into the reasons behind his previous electoral setback, emphasizing the role of external influences. In his own words, he stated, “Gentlemen and ladies, we didn’t win that election not because our party wasn’t on the ground, not because the candidate, my humble self, was the unpopular candidate. We lost that election because our leaders outside this state chose to work against us, that’s the truth.”
In a revelation that shed light on the internal dynamics, Ize-Iyamu disclosed, “Let it be on record we didn’t lose that election because the PDP was more popular than the APC. We lost that election because some of our leaders, some of our governors decided to work against that election, many of you know the details.”
Recently hailed as the “Homeboy” for his grassroots leadership, Ize-Iyamu outlined his commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by his people. He addressed the pressing issue of marginalization, stating in a viral video, “I understand the agitation, in this time everybody want to be Governor, Edo Central wants to produce Governor, Edo North wants to produce Governor, Edo South wants to produce Governor.”
He commended his party’s decision not to zone, emphasizing, “When you are in opposition, the only thing you want is where will you benefit. But when you are in Government, you can decide to say let us favor here, let us favor there.”
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu outlined his vision for Edo State, promising to uplift the state from its present challenges. He acknowledged the need for a leader who will prioritize the well-being of all residents, irrespective of their geographical location, stating, “What we want now is a governor that will see Edo State as his own, a governor that will develop every part of the state.”
Notably, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu lauded Adams Oshiomhole for his brave and unique style of leadership, acknowledging the positive impact on the state during Oshiomhole’s tenure.
24 hours after his declaration, the ripple effect of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s announcement continues, leaving political opponents within and outside the party astounded by the overwhelming support manifested through a mammoth crowd at the event.
