FHC Sharada Corner Shop Owners Seek Intervention Over Land Dispute, Petition DSS And Police

According to Alhaji Sani Maikusa, Chairman of the Committee of Corner-Shop Owners at Sharada Federal Housing Estate, and Hafiz Mato, the Secretary, these purported impostors have been intimidating legitimate landowners, posing a threat to the community’s peace and stability.

In their petition, the committee emphasized their peaceful nature as retirees and pensioners and expressed their determination to defend their property rights using all available means.

The shop owners allege that despite possessing legal ownership of the plots, some with valid titles lasting 60 to 99 years, their rights are being unjustly challenged. They claim that corrupt individuals within the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) are sabotaging the regularization processes to benefit political allies.

Despite a court order restraining all defendants from forcefully taking over their land, the shop owners accuse certain unscrupulous individuals of duping unsuspecting buyers by reselling the same land.

Furthermore, the Committee accuses the new FHA management of targeting their properties based on tribal and religious considerations, raising concerns about discrimination and injustice in governmental actions.

They call upon state leaders and stakeholders to intervene and halt what they perceive as a dangerous and discriminatory trend, emphasizing the need for fairness and justice in land administration practices.

The petition underscores the importance of protecting property rights and ensuring equitable treatment for all citizens, regardless of tribal or religious affiliations.
