The case, assigned to Justice Inyang Ekwo, was slated for a hearing on Friday following the appearance of a legal team, including Alex Ejesieme, SAN, who requested a date for the proceedings.

Although the suit, labeled as FHC/ABJ/CS/405/24, was not initially listed on the cause list, the defense lawyers attended the court session.

Before adjourning, one of the lawyers informed Justice Ekwo that the case was originally slated for Thursday, but due to the public holiday, the court did not convene.

Acknowledging the situation, Justice Ekwo directed them to coordinate with the court registrar for the next scheduled hearing.

The next hearing for the case was set for April 19.

This development follows Shaibu’s  recent removal by the Edo State Assembly, a move he contested as illegal and has chosen to challenge in court.
