The inferno, which began around 7:25 am, wreaked havoc on the state-of-the-art complex, rendering it unfit for normal court proceedings. The flames mercilessly devoured 40 offices, three open courtrooms, and crucial departments such as the registry and litigation offices.

Initial investigations by the Kwara State Fire Service revealed that the fire was sparked by a surge in electricity supply to the area, underscoring the urgent need for stringent electrical safety measures.

Despite the ferocity of the blaze, the valiant firefighters of Kwara State Fire Service sprang into action, bravely battling the inferno to prevent total devastation. Their swift response and unwavering dedication saved the State High Court from complete ruin, averting what could have been a catastrophic loss.

Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, the Director of Fire Service, emphasized the pivotal role of safety awareness and preparedness in preventing such tragedies, urging the public to remain vigilant and prioritize safety measures.

The aftermath of the fire left the judiciary community reeling in shock and sorrow, with Chief Judge Justice Abiodun Adebara personally assessing the extent of the damage. Tragically, the devastation did not end there, as another fire incident consumed a building on Arilewo Street, Oja oke off Airport Road, Ilorin.
