In an interview with BBC Hausa on Friday, Ganduje disclosed that invitations had been extended to both Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Kwankwaso.

Despite their historical political rivalry, Ganduje expressed confidence in the potential for reunification, citing shared roots and lineage.

The former Kano governor emphasized the significance of unity, stating, “A division occurred, and now (there is) a potential for reunification through divine intervention. What could be better?”

Ganduje clarified that official letters had not been dispatched to Kwankwaso yet, asserting that he wanted Kwankwaso and his camp to express interest in joining the APC before the letters are sent. He emphasized the sincerity of the invitation, saying, “We are calling them genuinely from our heart.”

Highlighting the need for unity within his Kano base, Ganduje noted the increasing influx of new members, including senators, representatives, and governors, during his visits across states as the national chairman of the APC. He sees the reconciliation as a necessary step, anticipating more individuals to join the party.

The willingness of Ganduje to extend an olive branch to Kwankwaso marks a potential turning point in their political relationship, and the outcome will be closely watched by political observers in Nigeria.
