Gowon urged Nigerians to exercise patience, acknowledging the challenges facing the nation but expressing confidence in the government’s efforts to address them. He reassured President Tinubu not to be deterred by public criticism, noting that scrutiny and criticism are inherent to governance.

“I think the government is trying their best on the various problems of the country but with Nigerians, don’t you worry, you can get criticised. People out there know better than what you know,” Gowon remarked.

He further stated, “I think Nigerians have to give the president time to get things really done. It is too early to sort of say the absolute result will be achieved now, so that is my opinion,” underscoring the need for patience and understanding during this early phase of the administration.
