However, he suggested that if it is deemed necessary to eliminate subsidies, Tinubu should consider reinstating them at 50 percent.

The former minister emphasized the importance of defending the Naira, likening allowing it to float to sending a soldier into battle without armor.

Dalung urged the president to prioritize the well-being of Nigerians and restore his reputation, as they can no longer bear the brunt of economic policies that lack compassion.

He contended that the prevailing hardships in the nation are causing immense suffering and even death due to hunger, and urged for urgent intervention.

He said, “The promise that Nigerians can sacrifice for the future is unattainable, and it makes him look like a wicked leader, he must redeem his name because people are dying of hunger and you are asking them to sacrifice. So if they sacrifice and all die, who will see the future?”.

“He needs to save lives first, before he talks about economic policies, His economic policies should have a human face. Otherwise he will end up like Buhari,” he said.
