“I’m Losing My Mind Again” – Omah Lay Opens Up On Fresh Battle With Depression

Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has raised fresh concerns among fans after revealing that he is once again struggling with depression. The 28-year-old Rivers-born artist made the disclosure in a Snapchat post on Monday night, where he poured out his frustrations and linked his current state to past recording contracts and experiences in the music industry.

The “Reason” crooner openly expressed regret over some of the deals he signed earlier in his career, directing blame at both his manager and himself. In his emotional outburst, Omah Lay wrote, “Fk contracts. Fk labels. Fk the music business. Fk my younger self. F**k my manager. God please, I’m losing my mind again.”

This revelation comes shortly after the singer ended his professional relationship with his manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi. While Awoniyi described their split as amicable, fellow label mate Kaestyle claimed that Awoniyi was in fact dismissed.

Omah Lay has been candid about his mental health battles in the past. His debut album Boy Alone, released on July 15, 2022, captured themes of loneliness and depression. Days after its release, he admitted that his struggles worsened following a personal entanglement with his therapist.

The award-winning star first rose to prominence with his debut EP Get Layd, which featured chart-topping hits such as “Bad Influence” and “Lo Lo,” earning him recognition as one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising acts.
