According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian rap star Olamide has addressed public assumptions about his personality, clarifying that he is often misunderstood as a shy person. Speaking during an appearance on the ‘Ada’s Room’ podcast, the award-winning artist explained that he is not shy but simply prefers a calm and reserved lifestyle.

Olamide noted that many people misinterpret his quiet nature, stressing that shyness and being laid back are two entirely different traits. He stated that shyness is linked to a lack of confidence or difficulty engaging with others, while being laid back means opting not to engage unless necessary. The rapper maintained that he is confident and outspoken when needed but chooses peace and minimal attention in his personal life.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, commented on his relationship with Olamide. In a lengthy Instagram story, Portable said Olamide would one day regret not signing him, insisting he is destined for global success. He described his rise from a “local rapper” to an internationally recognized artist as a product of persistence, divine favour, and support from foreign collaborators such as Skepta.

Portable asserted that he remains unstoppable and claimed that the decisions he made were in defense of his rights, adding that he believes Olamide would have benefitted more by keeping him close.
