JUST IN: Wike Appoints New Aide

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Benedict Daudu as his Senior Special Assistant on Legal and Multilateral Cooperation.

Mr. Daudu is the son of Joseph Daudu, a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The appointment was announced by the Director of Press in the Minister’s office, Anthony Ogunleye, on Tuesday.

Ogunleye stated that Mr. Daudu is a distinguished lawyer with a wealth of experience that he brings to the service of the administration.

He highlighted that the appointee graduated in law from Buckingham University in 2010 in the United Kingdom, and in 2013, he completed his Master’s degree in law from the prestigious George Washington University Law School in the United States of America.

Mr. Daudu was called to the bar in 2012 and has been actively practicing law since.

According to Ogunleye, this appointment acknowledges Barrister Daudu’s exceptional legal expertise, extensive academic background, and profound grasp of key policy issues.

He further noted that Mr. Daudu’s academic accomplishments are complemented by his extensive professional experience, which encompasses various areas of law.

His legal practice has afforded him an in-depth understanding and practical exposure to critical policy matters, including cybercrime, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Constitutional Law, Human Rights, and Civil Litigation Cases.

Ogunleye also mentioned that Mr. Daudu has worked in several prestigious law firms both within and outside the country, including JB Dauda and Co, Adams Law Office LLC, and Ade Okeaya and Co.
