During a visit to Tudun Bichi in Wasagu Chiefdom of Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area to console residents following recurrent bandit attacks, Governor Idris expressed fury towards informants’ actions. He unequivocally stated his readiness to authorize the execution of convicted informants.

“The activities of informants defy all norms and religious doctrines. Just for a pittance, some miscreants will provide valuable information to bandits to perpetrate mayhem against their own people,” Governor Idris asserted.

He emphasized his unwavering stance against such treachery, vowing, “Let it be known to the informants that whoever is convicted for volunteering information to bandits leading to the killing of innocent souls, I will sign his death warrant instantly.”

Meanwhile, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has expressed concern over the alarming trend of bandits recruiting Nigerian youths for as low as ₦500. In an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Governor Radda attributed the surge in banditry to poverty, particularly prevalent in the North-West region. He dispelled notions of political motives behind the banditry issues, highlighting economic desperation as the driving force behind youths’ involvement in criminal activities.
