“Looted, Not Burnt!” – Priscilla Ojo Clears Air On Juma Jux’s Store Amid Tanzanian Protests

Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo has refuted viral claims that her husband, Tanzanian music star Juma Jux, lost his luxury fashion store to arson during ongoing protests in Tanzania. According to Ireporter Online, several reports had surfaced early Thursday alleging that protesters had set ablaze Juma Jux’s store, reportedly valued at over $780 million, following chaos that erupted after the nation’s presidential election.

One social media user had claimed that the store was “completely destroyed by protesters” amid widespread unrest that broke out after the tense October 29 election. However, Priscilla Ojo took to Snapchat to clarify the situation, revealing that while the store was indeed affected, it was looted rather than burnt down.

In her brief statement, she wrote, “Looted not burnt,” emphasizing that only some of the merchandise was taken and the structure itself remained intact.

The couple, who recently returned to Lagos with their young son after a lavish welcome-home party hosted by Priscilla’s mother, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, have remained calm despite the circulating misinformation. Juma Jux has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Reports indicate that Tanzania has been engulfed in political unrest following a disputed presidential election in which several opposition figures were disqualified from contesting. The controversial vote sparked mass demonstrations across major cities, including Dar es Salaam, as citizens demanded transparency and fair representation.

Security forces have reportedly used tear gas and live ammunition to disperse crowds, while the government imposed a 6 p.m. curfew and partially restricted internet access to curb communication amid the crisis.
