Man Wey Sabi: Why I Fit Die For Tinubu Matter- Igbo Trader Makes Awesome Case For Tinubu’s Presidency

An Igbo trader by the name Emeka Ikadike has made a strong case for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rumoured 2023 presidential ambition claiming that the Jagaban na Man Wey Sabi.

The Igbo man in a Whatsapp forum gave solid reasons why he believes Tinubu remains the best choice for Nigerians. Advancing his argument in a group made up of Igbo traders, Emeka claims that Lagos State has given him and others the opportunity to shine in their chosen career.

The heated debate was anchored on the right choice of presidential aspirant amongst the likely contestants.

What prompted the debate was a quote credited to Prof Wole Soyinka which was shared on the Whatsapp platform.

“Tinubu saved Nigeria from the danger of a one-party state. He has nurtured many renowned National successors”~Wole Soyinka

With so many other arguments for and against, it was finally established that Emeka Ikadike gave the best reasons for advocating for a Tinubu’s presidency.

Here are some snippets from his discussions.

“If we take all the likely presidential aspirants and critically analyze each and every one of them then it won’t be farfetched why I settled for Tinubu, back then as a young trader selling in Ariaria market in Aba I was struggling to live above my petty trading. Coming to Lagos in 2003 I started my business here and today I have transformed from a petty trader to an international merchant.

Tinubu was able to create sound institutions which also attracted sound policies that have been sustainable.

What we need in Nigeria aside from government regulation and provision of basic amenities for its citizens is a sustainable plan that can be able to stand the test of time.

So many of us have argued that Lagos was ever bubbling but to be candid I personally disagree party with that assertion, by the turn of the last century Lagos was seen as the epitome of doom for the naysayers. An overpopulated city with the inhabitants living in dirt and squalor, disorderliness was the custom, high rate of crime, bad governance, environmental degradation and a chaotic Urban arrangement with a frustrating transportation system.

No matter how people loved Lagos they still saw it as a jungle for the lawless.

With enormous challenges facing Lagos, Tinubu started a sustainable plan backed with vision and a clear mission. You see consistency unlocks many features, since 1999 Lagos has had consistent leadership that is guided on well-enunciated reforms.

The positive vibes and energy of Lagosians started translating positively, Lagos started a transformation process from an infamous and decaying city into a modern, charming, and working city.

Tinubu introduced a knowledge-based strategy that allowed Lagos State Government to integrate and share specialised knowledge among its various ministries and parastatals, thereby promoting sustainable development.

If I may go further all these was not only achieved by Tinubu, but his influence and ability to keep Lagos focussed is the key, Fashola continued with a plan of sustainability.

Now, these are some of the reforms introduced by Tinubu and continued by successive governments that today Lagos is amongst the largest economy in Africa.

Budget reforms, popular participation and partnership building with the private sector, favourable policy changes that reflected the running of a contemporary city-backed with institutional and legislative reforms aimed at delivering quality services.

Resource mobilization laced with accountability and transparency. Application of information and communication technology and data in governance.

Programmatic interventions hinged on poverty alleviation and sustainable economic growth through the pursuit of the Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project.

All these reforms significantly increased the revenue generation of Lagos.

Today we Igbos in Lagos say Lagos is “no man’s land” even when the city always had its original dwellers, which shows the level of tolerance by Lagosians, and this is the kind of mindset we need at the national stage.

We need a leader who can set the foundation for sustainable economic development, we Igbos always prefer economic emancipation to political liberation. Tinubu has made remarkable contributions to trade and commerce for the Igbo Nation and Nigeria at large”

Emeka Ikadike’s postulations on why Tinubu is the best choice for the 2023 presidency was simply awesome.

He finally  killed the debate by concluding that he could die for Tinubu.”See I fit die for Tinubu matter, make dem clear road for man wey Sabi.”
