Affectionately known as Uncle Olu by his colleagues and legions of fans, Olu Jacobs has been a towering figure in Nigeria’s movie industry. With over 40 years of acting experience, Jacobs has become a bridge between the old and new generations of actors. Trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in England, Jacobs is celebrated as one of Africa’s greatest contributions to the global stage, having worked with various repertory theatres in Britain and starred in numerous international films.

In 2007, Jacobs won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He has carved out a distinguished career in Nollywood, mentoring countless emerging actors and actresses. His passion for acting was ignited by the late legendary filmmaker Hubert Ogunde’s annual concert party in Kano. This inspiration led him to England, where he honed his craft at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
