major crackdown on unsafe products, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed falsified drugs, medical devices, and other substandard regulated items worth ₦43 billion. The destruction took place in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Thursday.
The products, deemed unfit for consumption or use, included fake medicines, defective medical equipment, and other harmful goods that could have posed a serious risk to public health if allowed to circulate in the market.
NAFDAC’s action underscores its commitment to ensuring that only safe and quality products reach the Nigerian public. The agency continues to target unscrupulous manufacturers and distributors who produce or sell substandard products, which often lead to harmful health consequences for consumers.

The agency’s efforts to regulate and monitor product standards are crucial in maintaining the safety and well-being of citizens, and this recent destruction highlights its ongoing commitment to combating the menace of counterfeit goods in Nigeria.
