Oborevweri delivered this message on Sunday during the PDP Delta South Leaders and Stakeholders meeting held at the residence of former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.

Addressing the attendees, Oborevweri stated, “The unity of Delta South PDP strengthens our party, and I express gratitude to all of you for gathering here today.”

“In the past elections, I encountered challenges in some local governments within my Senatorial District, although I secured victory in Delta South overall. As the State Chairman transitions from Delta Central to Delta South and with the approaching local government council elections, I urge all aspirants to exercise patience and avoid pursuing positions aggressively, as each position can only be held by one individual at a time.”

Reflecting on his own experiences, the Governor remarked, “I faced 38 legal battles and emerged victorious by the grace of God. I encourage you to trust in divine timing rather than resorting to conflicts. Despite challenges, we triumphed in 21 out of 25 local governments with a significant margin of over 120,000 votes.”

“I assure you of my commitment to our collective welfare and the continuation of righteous governance. Upholding integrity may evoke dissent, but it ultimately garners widespread support.”

Expressing gratitude to party members, Oborevwori emphasized the importance of respecting party leaders. He said, “I appreciate the warmth extended to me today. I implore you to sustain your prayers for my steadfastness and adherence to principles.”

“God’s will shall prevail, and leadership will rotate as ordained. Respect for our leaders remains paramount, fostering unity and advancing our MORE agenda for the betterment of Deltans.”

Highlighting the Governor’s achievements, former Governor Uduaghan praised Oborevwori’s impactful governance within his first year in office. “Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has made significant strides for our state. His efforts in road construction, project completion, and initiation are commendable, particularly for Delta South residents,” Uduaghan acknowledged.

Similarly, former Deputy Governor Kingsley Otuaro applauded Oborevwori for maintaining leadership excellence and continuing the legacy of the previous administration led by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Addressing concerns over the party’s congresses and LG council elections, Otuaro urged members to embrace decisions that serve the party’s and the state’s best interests.

Meanwhile, youths from various LGs, including Aniocha South, North, Warri South West, and Burutu, staged protests against what they perceived as the party leadership’s imposition of candidates.
