Nigerians React As High-Court Scraps Controversial-Amendment To Rivers State House Of Assembly Service Commission-Law

The recent ruling by the High Court in Rivers State, which scrapped section three of the Rivers State House of Assembly Service Commission Law, has sparked a wave of reactions among Nigerians. The amendment, pushed through by the speaker Martins Amaewhule-led Assembly, had raised eyebrows as it bypassed Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s assent, granting the speaker the power to appoint the chairman and members of the commission.
