Nigerians React To Abba Kyari’s Suspension
A storm of reactions by Nigerians has greeted the immediate suspension of the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari, from the Nigeria Police Force.
It was earlier reported that IGP Usman Alkali Baba, in his letter to the Police Service Commission, dated 31st July, 2021, noted that the recommendation for the suspension of the officer, is in line with the internal disciplinary processes of the Force.
The details of the IGP’s letter recommending the suspension of Kyari were made available in a statement on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba.
According to the statement, the IGP noted that the suspension is also expected to create an enabling environment for the NPF Special Investigation Panel to carry out its investigations into the weighty allegations against DCP Abba Kyari without interference.

The statement added that the suspension is without prejudice to the constitutional presumption of innocence in favour of the officer.
Moments after the news of the suspension went viral, Nigerians took to various social media mediums to air their opinions on the suspension
Here are some of the reactions below…
@ERockson wrote; ‘No doubt he’s never coming back to the Nigeria police force’
@LibertyRep wrote; ‘That’s the first step of many steps. Many damning allegations have been made against this same super cop recently yet not even a single strand of hair on his head was touched by the Authority. He is being ‘ touched ‘ now because America is involved. Last last na soft landing them go still arrange for the guy.’
@ThEGodFaThEr103 wrote; After suspension, he should be extradited to the US to go and defend himself. If he’s found guilty which we know he would because he’s a corrupt super-fraud, let him willingly do the time so that this will serve as a deterrent to other public office holders and corrupt politicians in Nigeria.
@seunmsg wrote; ‘The right thing to do. He should clear himself or be dismissed. However, he must never be extradited to the US.’

Simon Ekpa, Nnamdi Kanu’s disciple faulted the suspension of Kyari.
In a tweet, Ekpa wrote: “We have been vindicated again! Nigeria breeds criminals. The recommendation of the IGP to “suspend” criminal Abba Kyari is another confirmation that they are all criminals.
“What is suspension? They didn’t know how bad the situation was until they watched our exposition. Face with tears of joy
Reno Omokri on his Twitter page commended the action taken by the IGP.
He said, “The suspension of Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, by the IG of Police is a good first step. More needs to be done.
“The investigation needs to be thorough and devoid of ethnic and religious considerations. This is beyond Kyari. This is about Nigeria’s image.”
Aisha Yesufu, in a statement via Twitter on Sunday, described the development as ‘Fantastic News’. It can be recalled that the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali, on Sunday morning suspended Kyari over his links to the disgraced fraudster, Ramon Olorunwa Abass a.k.a Hushpuppi.
“Fantastic News! Dear Buhari’s Government, You can see it is easy to do the right thing.”
“Competence character and capacity are things that one can acquire and hopefully this is the beginning for you”
“Well done to the IG of Police @PoliceNG for doing the needful. More expected.”, She tweeted.
