Northern Group To Sue FG Over Kaduna Bombing
The Concerned Northern Lawyers Forum has strongly criticized the recent accidental military bombing in Tudun Biri village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The group has declared its intention to take legal action against the Federal Government in response to the incident, seeking adequate compensation for the victims of the military drone attack.
During a news conference in Kaduna on Saturday, the group’s spokesman, Nafi’u Abubakar, refuted the Nigerian Army’s assertion that the attack was a mistake.
Instead, he argued that the operation was intentionally planned against the innocent civilians of Tudun Biri community.

The group urged the Federal Government to initiate an immediate and thorough independent investigation into the bombing, aiming to uncover the truth behind the incident.
Abubakar also called on the Nigerian Army to reassess its rules of engagement and training procedures to prevent the loss of innocent lives in future operations. The strike, which occurred on December 3, 2023, resulted in over 85 confirmed deaths and numerous injuries. While the Nigerian Army has issued an apology, assuring against a recurrence, rights groups have condemned the incident.
“The Nigerian military’s recklessness is a result of the authorities’ consistent failure to hold them to account for a long list of such atrocities. These unlawful killings of civilians cannot be swept under the carpet,” said Director of Amnesty International Nigeria, Isa Sanusi.
President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sani have also ordered a probe into the matter which threw the nation into mourning.
