Onanuga Accuses Peter Obi Of Focusing Solely On Bad News, Ignoring Government’s Achievements

During a podcast session with broadcaster Seun Okinbaloye, Onanuga criticized Obi for his selective approach to social media commentary, highlighting that Obi tends to remain silent when the government accomplishes something commendable but is quick to tweet about negative developments.
Onanuga lamented that Obi’s behavior, along with his supporters, indicates a deliberate effort to discredit the government and portray it negatively at all times.
He stated, “Even Peter Obi himself, read his tweets, when the government has done something good, he will never comment about it, but when it is bad news, quickly he will tweet, so you can see a deliberate attempt to denigrate this government, to paint it black all the time that he (Tinubu) is not doing well, he is a failure and I’ve said it is so early to even say so.”
In response to Onanuga’s comments, former Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, criticized Onanuga, Reno Omokri, and Daniel Bwala for their continuous attacks on Peter Obi. Dalung suggested that the relentless criticism indicates an attempt to undermine Obi, insinuating that President Tinubu seized Obi’s mandate but cannot fully possess it.
The exchange underscores the ongoing political tensions and accusations prevalent in Nigeria’s political landscape, particularly as the 2023 presidential election approaches.
