Taking to his Twitter handle, Omokri declared, “For those with low intelligence who believed the lies from notoriously dishonest media, like @SaharaReporters, that President Tinubu used public funds to ferry 1411 people to #COP28, please note that I worked closely with a President.” In a quote, he emphasized the established protocol preceding COP conferences, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry sends memos to various sectors, including chambers of commerce, banks, manufacturers, NGOs, and professional associations. The purpose is to invite them to attend the conference, fostering opportunities for investments, trade, aid, and cooperative activities in Nigeria.

Omokri then challenged the intelligence of those who bought into the alleged misuse of public funds, revealing, “Are you even aware that PDP members that are fighting the President, as well as members of other political parties, are part of that 1411 people?” He underscored the nature of the COP conference, framing it as an opportunity rather than a privilege, citing Brazil’s delegation of 3,081 and challenging the belief that the Brazilian government footed the bill for all attendees.
