Conflicting reports emerged regarding the incident, with some alleging that the attackers seized election materials. However, Barrister Isiaka Olagunju, the State Chairman of OYSIEC, refuted these claims, stating that no materials were snatched. He clarified that the attack took place at their office in Okeho and that security personnel escorted the officials back to Ibadan following the incident.

While suspicions arose due to the discovery of a bag containing money in possession of the officials, Barrister Olagunju dismissed these allegations, emphasizing that no ballot papers were taken. The Divisional Police Officer of Okeho has been directed to arrest the suspects, but as of the time of reporting, the State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the incident, leaving details and motives unclear.
