Tems outshone fellow nominees Burna Boy, Asake, and Wizkid (for their collaboration “MMS”) as well as Yemi Alade and Chris Brown’s Davido and Lojay-assisted track, “Sensational.”

This marks Tems’ second Grammy win, further cementing her place as a global Afrobeats powerhouse.

Since breaking into the industry in 2020, Tems has collaborated with music icons such as Drake, Rihanna, and Beyoncé.

At this year’s Grammys, she earned three nominations—Best African Music Performance, Best Global Music Album, and Best R&B Song—making her the most nominated African artist of the year.
