Timi Dakolo Criticizes Apostle Femi Lazarus Over Premium and Standard Pricing for Church Services

Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has called out Apostle Femi Lazarus, the founder of Light Nation Church, for charging students $150 to attend his ministry school. The controversy stems from a disagreement between the two on whether gospel singers should charge fees for performing at church events………READ MORE

The conflict escalated after Lazarus criticized gospel artists who demand payment for their performances, arguing they should trust God for their provisions instead of prioritizing financial gain. In response, Dakolo disagreed, emphasizing that pastors should focus on developing their church choirs instead of expecting professional gospel singers to perform for free.

Dakolo shared his thoughts on Instagram, questioning Lazarus for charging students to teach and preach Christianity. He pointed out the inconsistency in charging for ministry education while condemning gospel artists for charging for their performances. Dakolo also criticized the pastor for creating “premium and standard” tiers for his ministry school, suggesting that he was commodifying the teachings and gifts he received freely.
