Tinubu Delivers Final Warning To Bandits And Terrorists: ‘Your Time Is Running Out

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered a strong ultimatum to bandits, terrorists, and other criminal groups, urging them to surrender or face decisive action from the Nigerian government.

Speaking at a lecture organized by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Tinubu, represented by National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, made it clear: “Enough is enough. This must stop, and it will stop. This is their final warning. They have limited time.”

The President underscored that Nigeria will no longer tolerate insecurity, and his administration is fully prepared to take whatever measures are necessary to restore peace.

The lecture, titled “Insecurity in the Sahel (2008-2024): Dissecting Nigeria’s Challenges – Genesis, Impacts, and Options,” addressed the region’s security concerns. Tinubu emphasized that while peaceful resolutions are still on the table, criminal groups must act fast. “Our doors are open if they are willing to surrender and stop their activities. If not, they know what will happen,” he warned.

He also outlined the government’s combined use of kinetic (military) and non-kinetic (non-military) strategies to counter threats such as Boko Haram, banditry, and kidnapping. Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to providing jobs, infrastructure, and social services to tackle the root causes of insecurity.

In his role as Chair of ECOWAS, Tinubu is focusing on regional collaboration, intelligence sharing, and coordinating security efforts with neighboring countries to address the security challenges in the Sahel.

Praising the recent successes of the Nigerian armed forces, Tinubu highlighted the elimination of over 300 Boko Haram commanders and the reduction of kidnappings. He warned criminal leaders that if they refuse to surrender, they will face the same fate as their fallen counterparts.
