Ehinmoro highlighted six core areas encompassed by the policies, including Maternal and Paternal Leave, Menstrual Leave, Lactation & Crèche Facilities, Hybrid Working Model, Support for People with Special Abilities, and Engagement Initiatives. While catering to the entire workforce, particular emphasis is placed on creating a supportive environment for female employees.
Recognizing the pivotal moments surrounding childbirth and the pivotal role of family, Unilever Nigeria goes above and beyond legal requirements, offering extensive maternity and paternity leave. Moreover, the company provides onsite crèche and lactation rooms, ensuring nursing mothers can care for their infants while pursuing impactful work.
In a groundbreaking move towards flexibility and empathy, Unilever Nigeria grants female employees one-day menstrual leave, acknowledging the importance of emotional and physical wellbeing during this time. The company’s hybrid working model, comprising three days onsite and two days remote, further promotes work-life harmony.
