University Of Port Harcourt Promotes 46 Senior Academics

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has elevated 46 senior faculty members, promoting 30 to the rank of professor and 16 others to associate professor.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Owunari Georgewill, made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday in Port Harcourt. He explained that the promotions followed a thorough assessment process conducted by the university.

• Faculty of Science: 7 new professors

• Faculty of Social Sciences: 5 new professors

• Faculty of Management Sciences: 5 new professors

• College of Health Sciences: 5 new professors

• Faculty of Humanities: 4 new professors

• Faculty of Engineering: 3 new professors

• Faculty of Pharmaceuticals: 1 new professor

In the Associate Professor category, the breakdown is as follows:

• Faculty of Engineering: 4 new associate professors

• Faculty of Science: 3 new associate professors

• Faculty of Education: 2 new associate professors

• Faculty of Humanities: 2 new associate professors

• Faculty of Agriculture: 1 new associate professor

• Faculty of Social Sciences: 1 new associate professor

• Faculty of Management Sciences: 1 new associate professor

• College of Health Sciences: 1 new associate professor
