Despite a shaky performance against Cape Verde in the quarter-finals, where they narrowly clinched victory via a penalty shootout, Khanye acknowledges the commanding performance of South Africa’s goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, who saved four penalties.

Khanye, in an interview with iDiski TV, admitted the team’s shortcomings, emphasizing the need to be realistic about their chances against Nigeria. He pointed out that the recent game against Cape Verde was their worst in the tournament, with defensive lapses and overall poor play.

“I’m not saying this because I’m being negative, but it’s just me stating facts. Any team can beat us,” Khanye commented, expressing concerns about Bafana Bafana’s vulnerability.

While praising Ronwen Williams for his exceptional goalkeeping, Khanye anticipates that Nigeria will exploit South Africa’s weaknesses. He concludes, “This is our last game, those guys (Nigeria) are going to punish us,” acknowledging the challenging task that lies ahead for Bafana Bafana against the Super Eagles.
