The certificate presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place at 4 pm, following the weekly meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
Governor Aiyedatiwa emerged as the winner of the APC governorship shadow election held on April 20, as declared by the Governor Usman Ododo-led 7-man primary election committee. However, the outcome of the election was contested due to allegations of irregularities and violence in some polling units.
Several candidates, including Senator Jimoh Ibrahim and Olusola Oke, filed petitions challenging Aiyedatiwa’s victory and called for the cancellation of the primary, demanding a fresh one. Despite these challenges, the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, urged the aggrieved aspirants to support Aiyedatiwa’s candidacy in the November governorship election during a meeting held three days after the primary.
It’s noteworthy that the National Deputy Chairman of the APC (South West), Isaacs Kekemeke, and Wale Akinterinwa were absent from the said meeting.
