Engaging the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, the troops forced them to abandon their hostages—17 kidnapped victims. Promptly, the rescued individuals were safely evacuated and returned to the care of Batsari Local Government officials.
In another development, in the northeastern state of Borno, a significant event unfolded. Alhaji Wosai, a notorious member of the Boko Haram terrorist group operating within Garno Village, Dikwa Local Government Area, voluntarily surrendered to the troops.
