Mutu also shared insights into the intense pressure and lifestyle changes he faced after moving to London, admitting he felt overwhelmed and unprepared. “I was caught off guard. I arrived at Chelsea during a turbulent time in my personal life, and I found myself using too many excuses and lies. I was too young and feeling isolated,” he explained.

Despite the setbacks, Mutu remains optimistic about his football potential, believing his talent could have earned him prestigious honors, including the Ballon d’Or. “I’ve reflected on that many times… For more than a season, I was amongst the best players in the world, so I could have won it easily. But bad decisions prevented me from doing so. I try not to dwell on it too much,” he said.
