Peter Obi Is Not Contesting 2027” — Arabambi Calls Him ‘Chief Content Creator

Labour Party National Vice President, South-West, Abayomi Arabambi, has claimed that Peter Obi will not contest the 2027 presidential election, while arguing that the former Labour Party presidential candidate cannot defeat President Bola Tinubu.

Arabambi made the remarks on Thursday during an interview on TVC’s Politics Tonight, where he discussed the evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general election.

According to Ireporter Online, the Labour Party chieftain described Obi, who is identified with the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), as a “chief content creator,” suggesting that the former Anambra State governor is more focused on commenting on national issues than pursuing the presidency.

“We have a sitting president that is one, and we have only one contender against the president. The only contender we have that I know is serious to slug it out with the incumbent is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,” Arabambi said.

He also criticised Obi’s reliance on statistics when commenting on national issues, alleging that some of the figures he has presented were later found to be inaccurate.

“He’s a man who comes with all manner of statistics that you now find out to be false,” Arabambi alleged.

The Labour Party official further claimed that Obi was not preparing to contest the 2027 presidential election, saying opposition leaders were already aware of his alleged decision.

“He’s not contesting, even their leader know Obi is not contesting. All of you are going to replay what I said today. He’s not contesting. He knew why he went out there,” he said.

Arabambi maintained that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar remained, in his assessment, the only serious opposition candidate capable of challenging Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
