2 Secs Revolution: Atiku, Yahaya Bello Intensifies Campaign As Tinubu Fever Heats Up (Midweek Highlight)
Two seconds everything don burst oo.
Two seconds everywhere burst is a street slang depicting a sudden quick change in events, from slow mode to quick mode, in the military parade, it’s called changing from slow march to quick march.
As the 2023 general elections draw closer everyone is quite thrilled to see the turnout of events and you would not blame anyone for this, everybody in life has their own personal interest.
A lot of people are just there to see the hyperactivity and the way it all plays out, the razzmatazz, paparazzi, and the glitz.
My people no blame anybody as the matter dey pain some people say Nigerians no suppose dey discuss election matta na so e dey sweet other people belle say election wan start so.
Elections actually have their own economical value to the building of a developing nation like Nigeria.
Printers are happy, Journalist are now friends to big politicians, canvassers and mobilizers are suddenly now having jobs, the traders can now sell materials in large quantities, tailors now have work to do, the bankers can now give out loans and do huge transactions, account officers are glad, or is it the real estate sector?
It’s a chain reaction and only the envious and mischievous soul would not wish for an electioneering circle.
With 2021 fast winding down the political timeline has suddenly taken a different twist, the whole scene is now fully charged and all the gladiators are intensifying efforts in laying down their dominance.
Atiku is fully back in Nigeria after years of sojourn in Dubai and he has wasted no time in kick-starting his campaign, the former Vice-President started with a visit to the Lion of PDP and Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike, later he was spotted with Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor, yesterday he was with Udom the Akwa Ibom State Governor.
Atiku is looking forward to clinching the PDP’s ticket and has decided to court the Southern Governors in PDP.
His bargaining tool is that the APC would produce a southerner as its presidential candidate. So if the APC goes South and the PDP goes North with an Atiku’s candidacy then he can be sure of total victory even if the South-West votes for their APC flagbearer.
So Atiku is intensifying his efforts and guess what he would seek the support of Buhari as well. Atiku seems more ambitious of all the likely aspirants, he’s a serial presidential contestant and even in his 70s he’s not backing down one bit.
Then comes in the white Lion of Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello who has fully started his own presidential bid by pleading with the Jagaban to support his aspiration at the detriment of the Jagaban’s own presidential ambition.
Yahaya Bello is looking towards clinching the APC ticket from the generational shift mantra. Yahaya Bello is in his 40s and he thinks it’s time for the youths to take up the challenge. Yahaya Bello has recently sought the services of young celebrities in the sports and entertainment sector to give his presidential ambition a boost.
Calling for Tinubu to support him brings us to the highlight of today’s discussion. Why is Tinubu’s fever heating up the polity?
From all observations all likely presidential contestants are fixated on a Tinubu presidential ambition, it is either Tinubu happens to be the stumbling block to their ambitions or the Jagaban must throw in his weight behind them.
Tinubu’s popularity is really blazing up the system and from all indications, the fear of Tinubu seems to be the beginning of political wisdom.
Meanwhile, the Jagaban who happens to be in London is set to come back soon and begin his own presidential consultations. Tinubu has the largest network of adherents working on a voluntary basis with the high hopes of Tinubu throwing his hat into the ring.
The rate of public endorsement for the aspiration of Tinubu is unprecedented in the annals of our political history, the support groups are just so much that it has become scary to likely presidential aspirants and may lead to apathy amongst the league of contestants.
The Tinubu Fever is, clearly, coming from a tremendous passion for transformation. A passion for a new dawn. A desire for a new Nigeria. And a thirst for hope!
With the way the political activities are heating up the next few weeks would spring huge surprises and expectations, let us keep our fingers crossed and see how events turn out.
