Obi faced alleged electoral malpractice in 2023, the movement is committed to thorough preparation for the next election cycle.
At the event titled “Repositioning the Obidient Movement for Greater Impact,” organized by the Obidient Movement and Anambra State Support Groups, Tanko discussed their renewed focus on mobilization, strengthening structure, and youth empowerment. He emphasized the goal of building a “new Nigeria” rooted in accountability and good governance.
“We are dedicated to fostering good governance,” Tanko said, adding that Obi’s potential victory hinges on better organization. “Our agents will be trained and fully prepared for the 2027 general election.”
Tanko acknowledged that while the Labour Party was criticized for lacking structure in 2023, Obi nonetheless attracted substantial support. He asserted that election malpractice distorted the true results, a scenario they intend to prevent in 2027.
The movement also plans to advocate for electoral reform through legislative and public support efforts, Tanko explained, noting they will bring proposals to the National Assembly and mobilize the public for fair electoral practices.
“We’re working to make a real difference, empowering Nigerian youths and promoting justice, equity, and transformation,” he said, adding that even northern Nigeria is calling for change.
Tanko affirmed that the Obidient Movement’s mission is to build a Nigeria where citizens’ voices and choices matter, aiming to bring genuine progress to all.
