In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, December 21, Adeyanju insisted that no lawyer should earn less than N250,000 as a base salary, not including other benefits.

He expressed concern that law firms paying below this amount are undermining the value of the legal profession.

“With the current state of affairs in Nigeria, no lawyer should earn less than N250,000 as a base salary, exclusive of other benefits,” Adeyanju stated. “Any law firm offering less is belittling the profession. We must lead by example in advocating for change within our field.”

Adeyanju’s remarks have sparked discussions within both the legal community and the general public, shedding light on the financial difficulties many young lawyers in Nigeria face. As inflation and rising living costs impact various sectors, his statement emphasizes the urgent need for reforms in the legal profession to ensure fair compensation.
