Taking to social media, Jeff shared tweets and a video detailing his ordeal, revealing that he and other Nigerians were subjected to xenophobic treatment upon their arrival at the airport. He described how they were singled out and confined to a room by the immigration officials.

According to Jeff, they were only released after providing some contacts. He expressed disappointment and shock at the discriminatory treatment, particularly noting the officials named Chauke and Mashego.

Drawing a comparison to the treatment of South Africans in Nigeria, Jeff expressed initial excitement about visiting the country, only to be met with blatant racism and discrimination. He emphasized that he has never experienced such treatment anywhere else in the world.

Jeff’s outcry sheds light on the ongoing challenges faced by Nigerians and other Africans traveling to South Africa, highlighting the urgent need for measures to address xenophobia and promote inclusivity and equality at border checkpoints.
