“Dear Imolites, please note that there will be no election in the following polling units (as attached in frames 1 & 2) with no registered voters,” the Electoral Commission said.
The Electoral Commission also specified in the statement that residents of the 38 affected areas should not anticipate the presence of personnel and materials at those locations.

Furthermore, the Commission is releasing two publications for the upcoming polls: an informative booklet and a roster of polling and collection agents.
This information was confirmed in a press release signed by Sam Olumekun, the National Commissioner & Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee.
Olumekun stated that the information booklet contains a graphical summary of registered voters and Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) collected by Local Government Areas (LGAs), along with the breakdown of registered voters by gender, age group, occupation, and disability.
The publication also provides a list of candidates and detailed information regarding the two polling units in Bayelsa and the 38 in Imo State without registered voters. The Commission has consistently stated that elections will not take place in these polling units, as no materials have been prepared for these locations and no officials will be deployed to them.
Regarding the list of Polling and Collation Agents, Olumekun mentioned that 16 political parties are sponsoring candidates for the election in Bayelsa State, while 18 are doing so in both Imo and Kogi States.
The elections will be conducted in 10,470 polling units (excluding the 40 polling units without registered voters). Each political party is required to appoint polling agents for all polling units, as well as for the 649 Ward, 56 LGA, and three state collation centres.
However, after the deadline for uploading the list of agents to the INEC dedicated portal by political parties, a total of 34,704 agents were uploaded for Bayelsa, 65,274 for Imo, and 37,995 for Kogi, making a combined total of 137,973 polling and collation agents for the three states.
Nonetheless, the detailed breakdown reveals that not all parties designated agents for the polling and collation centres across the states. In fact, some political parties have no polling unit or collation agents in certain states, despite fielding candidates in the election.
The information booklet, along with the comprehensive summary of agents and their allocation by polling units, as well as the ward, LGA, and state collation centres, has been made available on INEC’s website and social media platforms for public access.
