BREAKING: Big Loss For Obi, Obidients As Appeal Court Sacks Another Labour Party Reps Member (PHOTO)

The Court of Appeal has removed Chijioke Okereke of the Labour Party from his position as the representative for Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency.

The Court upheld the earlier decision of the Enugu State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal to unseat Okereke.

In a verdict delivered on Monday, the Court determined that Okereke’s appeal against the tribunal’s ruling, which affirmed Anayo Onwuegbu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the legitimate victor of the election, lacked merit.

The tribunal had disqualified Okereke and upheld Onwuegbu as the duly elected candidate in the poll held on February 25.

Onwuegbu had contested the tribunal’s declaration of Okereke, arguing that he was not a valid contender in the election as his name did not appear on the result sheet as the candidate of the Labour Party.
