UN climate talks, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, face mounting tension over financial pledges. Developing nations had previously rejected an offer of $250 billion, demanding more substantial funding to address the escalating climate crisis. The revised offer, which comes with additional conditions, aims to address concerns over the phase-out of fossil fuels, a key issue in the negotiations. However, some wealthy countries, including the US and Saudi Arabia, have resisted calls to take more aggressive actions on fossil fuel reductions and provide greater funding.
